The Be SMART program is funded through the US Department of Energy’s Better Buildings program, providing increased comfort, safety and affordability to buildings in Maryland through energy efficiency improvements.
The DHCD is working with Hawkeye Construction to finance and execute energy efficiency improvements in 15 targeted communities. If your commercial property is located in one of these communities, you may be eligible to receive ENERGY STAR qualified HVAC systems, insulation, windows, draft stopping, duct sealing, appliances and fixtures, and water heating equipment. The sum of all these improvements may result in estimated energy savings of 15-30%.
